Can I get a license if I have a criminal record?

A job is one of the best ways for people with criminal records not to re-offend, but strict licensing rules make it harder to find work.

The government requires a person to get a license to work for many jobs—like security guards, cosmetologists, eyelash technicians, makeup artists, barbers, EMTs, and other jobs.

And having a criminal record makes it difficult to get a license to work.

This is unfair.

If an employer or customer wants to hire you, it shouldn’t matter if you have a criminal record.
