The Institute for Justice is investigating the Pasco County Sheriff’s Intelligence-Led Policing Program. The Tampa Bay Times described the Program in a recent article.

The Sheriff’s Office has created a list of people who they believe are “likely” to commit crimes. Some of the people on the list are adults, but some are as young as 13. The Sheriff’s Office then harasses the people on the list and their families or friends.

You might be on the list if:

You may be on the list if you have received frequent visits from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, or if you have been targeted for frequent arrests or citations for minor offenses. You may have heard officers mention Strategic Targeted Area Response (or “STAR”) teams, the Intelligence-Led Policing Program, or a Prolific Offender Check.
