Judicial Engagement Fellow

Adam Shelton is the Center for Judicial Engagement Fellow at the Institute for Justice. He joined IJ in July of 2019.

As the CJE fellow, he focuses on content production and assisting in the center’s mission of educating the public about the proper role of judges in enforcing constitutional limits on the size and scope of government.

Prior to joining IJ, Adam was a law clerk at the Board of Veterans’ Appeals. He is a 2018 graduate of the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law. In addition to clerking for IJ Minneapolis during law school, he was a legal intern for the Cato Institute’s Center for Constitutional Studies. Adam received his B.A. in History and Political Science from Arizona State University and is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area.

Adam is a member of the District of Columbia Bar.
