Andy Zhao works as an Activism Assistant at the Institute for Justice. In this role, he has the honor of supporting activists and communities around the nation in their efforts to safeguard a person’s right to earn an honest living; make it simpler, cheaper, and faster to start a small business; and ensure constitutional treatment by government officials.
Prior to IJ, he spent time at the U.S. House of Representatives and the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs, and advocating for youth voter engagement at the state and local level.
He received his B.A. in Global Affairs from Yale University in May 2023. In his free time, you can find him playing tennis, running, weightlifting, and learning all about food, cocktails, and spirits.
