Erik Castelan serves as the Operations and Community Relations Manager at the Institute for Justice Clinic on Entrepreneurship at the University of Chicago Law School. Erik joined the IJ Clinic in June 2019 and leads the IJ Clinic’s efforts to work with community stakeholders and government officials to advocate for the rights of low-income entrepreneurs. He also coordinates and supports the IJ Clinic’s workshops, day-to-day activities, and annual South Side Pitch competition.
Before joining the IJ Clinic, Erik was an intern for a Cook County Commissioner and the Illinois Housing Development Authority. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago in May 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy and specialized in Urban Planning.
