Jessica Poitras

Jessica Poitras is legislative counsel with the Institute for Justice. She joined the Institute in 2019 and she advocates for legislative reform across the country in the areas of economic liberty, property rights, and other civil liberties. Jessica is based at the Institute’s headquarters in Arlington, Virginia.

Jessica received her law degree from American University Washington College of Law in 2019. While in law school, Jessica served as a student attorney for the Community and Economic Development Law Clinic Law where she represented small businesses and nonprofits in DC and Maryland.

Jessica earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Information Sciences in 2016 from the University of Alabama.
