Calvin Bates serves as Director of IT, Enterprise Platforms and Innovation at the Institute for Justice, where he leads the strategy, modernization, and execution of the organization’s technology ecosystem. He oversees enterprise platforms, digital workplace initiatives, and emerging technology adoption to enhance operational efficiency and support IJ’s mission.
Calvin has a strong focus on innovation, including the evaluation and implementation of AI tools and enterprise solutions that improve productivity, collaboration, and long-term scalability.
Prior to joining IJ, Calvin held IT roles at General Dynamics Information Technology and at national law firms, where he developed a foundation in delivering reliable, high-impact technology solutions.
Outside of work, he enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from the University of Maryland.
