Janice Yoo is a research assistant on IJ’s Strategic Research team. In this role, she gathers and organizes data, conducts literature reviews, and performs data analysis to support IJ’s original research projects. Janice earned her B.A. in Political Science with honors at Northwestern University in 2026.
Prior to joining IJ, she interned at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and worked as a research assistant at the Network for Nonprofit and Social Impact Lab, where she developed her passion for using data and research to advance justice. For her year-long honors thesis, Janice examined Asian American political engagement using regression and geospatial analysis, further strengthening her quantitative research skills.
Janice has always been drawn to public interest work that makes a tangible difference in people’s lives. She is excited to contribute to IJ’s cutting-edge research and work alongside colleagues who are deeply committed to justice and individual liberty for everyone.
