Considering a gift through your IRA?

As the holiday season quickly approaches, so does the end of another tax year. If you plan to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) to IJ from your IRA this year, we encourage you to start the process with your financial institution by early December.
Please note that the date of your QCD is not the date you or your IRA administrator send the distribution check—it is the date that the funds clear and are transferred by your IRA administrator to the charity. This is important to remember, especially if you are relying on a gift to satisfy a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) this year. The busy holiday season is often accompanied by delays in the mail, so we recommend initiating your distribution by the start of December to help ensure it is credited toward 2024.
