Washington Governor Signs Eminent Domain Bill

The Institute for Justice Washington Chapter celebrated an important reform of Washington’s eminent domain laws when Governor Christine Gregoire signed SHB 1458 into law. Executive Director Bill Maurer’s Policy Brief for the Washington Policy Center urged the reform and highlighted that until the law was changed, the government was not required to provide property owners with personal notice of the meeting at which it decided to condemn property.
