Megan Passon

FOIA and Document Specialist

Megan joined the Institute for Justice in August 2023 as IJ’s FOIA and Document Specialist. Within this newly created position, she is responsible for sending and tracking Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, as well as proofreading both legal and nonlegal documents for IJ staff.

Prior to working at IJ, Megan was a teaching assistant for undergraduate students at the University of Maryland, College Park. She also completed four internships within the criminal justice, policy, and legal fields: the International Rescue Committee’s Immigration Legal Services Division, Catholic Social Services of the Miami Valley’s Refugee Resettlement Division, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America’s Legislative/Policy Team, and the Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office in Michigan.

Megan graduated summa cum laude from the University of Dayton in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Studies and Sociology, as well as a minor in Political Science.
