IJ Attorney Dan Alban and IJ Alum Justin Gelfand have an oped in today’s WSJ on licensing tax preparers:

It is everybody’s favorite time of year: tax season. But this could be the last year you can hire a reasonably priced, independent tax preparer to handle your return. That’s because Congress is considering a bill that would give the Internal Revenue Service the authority to license all tax preparers, forcing them to comply with burdensome regulations that would push the hundreds of thousands of mom-and-pop preparers out of business.
