David Lucas opened The Lucas Winery in Lodi, Ca., in 1978. The winery produces fewer than 2,000 cases of wine each year. Most of the wine is sold on-site to tourists and others who visit their winery, and Lucas has built a tasting room for just that purpose. Lucas maintains a website and a mailing list of customers from across the United States.
