Mike and Shirley Okamura

Mike and Shirley Okamura care for their four grandchildren through Arizona’s foster care system.  All four children attend a private school in Phoenix, thanks to partial private scholarships.  Like many foster children, the Okamuras’ grandchildren struggled in public school, facing teasing about their family situation that led to a range of behavioral problems.
