Humboldt Abatements Oral Argument
IJ filed a class action against Humboldt County in October 2022, alleging that the county’s code enforcement fines innocent people millions of dollars. The trial court dismissed the complaint in its entirety, saying that IJ’s allegations were too incredible to be true. On an appeal from that decision, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit held oral arguments, which focused on the many ways the trial court got things wrong.
