Laura Kelly is an Activism Coordinator at the Institute for Justice, where she works with community members and decision makers to secure greater economic opportunity for beauty professionals, pursue government accountability for constitutional violations, and empower small business owners to build stronger communities by tackling onerous regulatory barriers.
Prior to joining the Institute for Justice, Laura worked on local judicial and district attorney campaigns, in the Santa Clara County Public Defender’s Office, and with incarcerated youth at McLaren Youth Correctional Facility.
Laura holds a BA in Politics, Policy, Law and Ethics with a concentration in Sociology from Willamette University, and enjoys watching the Washington Spirit play good soccer, spending time outdoors, and line dancing at Eastern Market.
