Leo Feler is an economist who lives in Chicago. In October 2025, while he was out of town on a work trip, Leo noticed commotion on his Ring cameras. Agents from Customs and Border Protection came storming onto Leo’s property without a warrant and chased contractors who were working on renovations to Leo’s home. Over his cameras, Leo demanded to see a warrant, but was ignored and the raid continued.
In July 2026, Leo teamed up with the Institute for Justice to file a federal lawsuit seeking to hold the government and the individual agents accountable for the warrantless raid of his property.
