John Korevec is an attorney with the Institute for Justice. Prior to joining IJ’s headquarters office in November 2025, he was an Assistant United States Attorney with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California in Los Angeles. At the United States Attorney’s Office, he served in the Complex and Defensive Litigation Section of the Civil Division. He also detailed with the Office’s Criminal Division, where he focused his practice on domestic security and immigration matters. Before his government service, he was a litigation associate first at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and Affiliates, and then at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where his practice focused on complex civil litigation, and criminal and internal investigations. Prior to his work in private practice, he clerked for the Honorable Manuel L. Real of the United States District Court for the Central District of California.

John earned his law degree from the University of Southern California, his MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and his B.A. in International Political Economy from Fordham University. He is licensed to practice in California and multiple federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court.
