Mamma Jamma Dance and Maternal Wellness

At 16, Kemeera witnessed the beautiful birth of her little sister, never imagining how her mother had planted a seed that would shape her life. When she later learned that disempowering birth experiences were far too common, she knew which side of the story she wanted to be on and became a doula before having children of her own.  

With a background as a dancer and dance educator, Kemeera eventually merged her two worlds to found Mamma Jamma Dance & Maternal Wellness. She created the Mamma Jamma Dance Method for Easier Birth & Smoother Recovery, a full-body, full-mind approach that prepares women and their partners physically, mentally, and emotionally for birth and recovery.  

Born and raised, and now raising her family on Chicago’s South Side, Kemeera has spent a decade supporting families as they navigate fewer maternity care options and complex systems. Her work helps women hold on to their dignity, reclaim confidence and self-trust, and find joy and possibility in their experiences so families can enter their next chapter supported and empowered. For Kemeera, this work is an honor, a blessing, and an investment in the community she deeply loves. Empowering births are possible. Her commitment is to help make them inevitable.
